How was Kabul Express.....
Like I mentioned earlier, today my exams got over and went to watch Kabul Express with classmates.
Overall, a pretty decent movie. In fact a nice movie. Short and sweet. Hardly 1:45 hrs. And there are no songs in the movie. Only some amazing background score by Raghav (Sachar), always admired him from the time of his very first song, cultural amalgamation.
John Abraham had a good role, but didn't have the power dialogues in the movie. Thats where Arshad Warsi scored in. With his immaculate comic timing, very natural though, nothing out of place. The role of the translator was done by an Afghan, who, it seems, always wanted to be an actor, but had to suppress his dreams for a VERY long time (around 30 odd yrs.) till this movie. But in the end he was the one who stole the show. You could actually feel the hatred in his tone when there was any mention of Taliban. I guess that has to come naturally when you're an Afghan. Also the role of the Reuters journalist was nice. Decent side role. Amazing chick though, no disrespect to women. But damn, she was hot!!!! Also the Talib dude, his acting was also admirable.
Well after watching the movie, you could actually make out that this was made by a guy who has done a lot of documentaries. And so he has. The dude's name is Kabir Khan. He has spent most of his life making documentaries on ...... Afghanistan, what else. It is said that this guy actually got death threats when they were shooting for the movie. But hey, the movies released and the director's alive. So who the hell cares. But overall a well directed movie.
And it seems like the Chopras always find a real fine place to invest their money in. That's right . Aditya Cjopra produced the film. Looks like a genius of a work.
To top it all off, a must watch. I don't mind watching it again. And its really worth paying for the balcony. Pretty predictable ending. But overall, a great movie, definitely no time pass.
Go watch!!!!!!
