The day I almost died ..... and then the surgery ...... and then the holidaying!!!!!!!

Part 3

After a couple of days staying in Pune, my parents made a move to Khandala and Mahabaleshwar. And to make things better, my parents shifted me in a private room. Damn that was cool!!!! A private bathroom, a TV, an AC and room service. That’s all I want. All of a sudden I wasn’t in a hospital, it was more of a hotel. Well this was the first time when I saw my wounds, when my dressing was being changed. IT WAS BAD!!!! I never realised it could be that bad. But the staples on my brow looked cool. It was more of a piercing than a recovery procedure. But the stitches on my knee were real bad. At least looked bad. And it was, as I realised later during the pysiotherapy. Damn it was painful. At least its all right now. Thank God for that.

Sad pictures right!!!!!

Well, now back to story telling time. Daily I had 3 check-ups, doctor visits, friends coming in and out and room service all the time. Amruta had also come down by this time to Pune. Whole day long she was with me, no one to disturb us. I had taken a note of my check-up routine, so we were never disturbed. Always being together, watching TV together and lunch and dinner together. Lovely time in the most unusual place imaginable.

In fact the food over there was amazing. Amazing aloo ka paratha for 20 bucks, and real good too. And omelet bread for 12 bucks. WOW!!! And even better chai. As such there was something or the other coming in and out of the room every couple of hours or so.

And to top it all off, now the whole battalion from my class used to come to my room. Firstly, the FIFA finals were there and the Wimbeldon was also on. So it was apparent that everyone HAD to be there. It was obvious. So when the matches weren’t there, the movies were on. So it was a holiday, literally. It never seemed to anyone that I had met with an accident, it was a holiday and everyone was enjoying at my expense. Well, who’s complaining. The money for the hospital fees wasn’t going to go from my own pocket, what the hell is the insurance company sitting there for!!!! So live and let live. Enjoy everyone.

Well now it was decided that I would fly back home once my parents had already reached Delhi. So there was the end of my “holiday “ after my accident. At the end of the whole ordeal, it was more of living life to the max, rather than close shave to death.
