Spiderman 3 Review
Well people, long time since I wrote a review. As for Spidey 3, long awaited Sony Productions summer release. Everyone has seen the trailers of the movie, so basically everyone knows who all are the villians in the movie. Just for the (abnormal) people who haven't seen the trailers, the villians are mindblowing, the Sandman, the (New) Green Goblin and Sidey himself with the venom on him, and another surprise package, all Sidey fans can imagine which one.
I personally liked the starting of the movie and all the plot that was involved. BUT, it was full of drama. Agreed you need some in a movie, but it had a LOT of it. A little bit hard to digest. Kirsten Dunst (MJ) is really really thin in the movie, and act like a typical female nutcase that she is (no offense to the female readers, sorry anyways). She, in a way, is the root of everything in the movie. Tobey Maguire has lost his boy next door look completely and the mature, macho look is not suiting him. At the end of Spidey 2, everyone came to know what to expect from Harry Osbourn, and YES, he lives upto the expectation, in fact he's better than his predecessor at the job. The best character though is J. Jonah Jameson, amazing acting, the typical Mr. Grouch, if you would call him.
Now the villians. Sandman was good, pretty lame way to get converted into the Sandman, but you don't expect anything logical after you've seen the origin of all the Spidey villians. Green Goblin roked. He was totally amazing. New gadgets and toys to fool around with, while keeping the best of the older goodies. The Venom, the best thing that ever happend to the comic, is in the movie, I don't think anything else is required to be mentioned. BUT, sad part, all the villians play more or less a cameo in the movie, till the final seqquence towards the end. There's no one long scene of the Sidey-villian showdown throughout the movie.
The worst part about the movie is the drama. A little bit is fine, but it becomes too much to handle. Sam Raimi has really diverted from the comic book to get all this in. In fact, Peter Parker is more involved in his own personal problems, that you seem to wonder why the movie is called Spiderman. From the very starting to the last scene, there is romance, tragedy and drama; this is not what a comic book movie has in it. The lamest thing though, was the "loss" of Peter Parker's Spider Sense, which was evident in various portions of the movie, which is pretty unexplainable.
Overall, a decent flick, not worth much, hyped out of proportion, lack of action, full of romantic drama, awesome fight sequences, and even better villians. Everyone, apart from Spidey, is the focus of the movie.
Apart from this, just go and enjoy the film!!!!!
